Description: Vintage: 2011Wine Type: White WineVarietal Composition:100% Sauvignon BlancAppellation: Amador CountyHarvest Date: Sept 14th and 16th, 2011PH: 3.32Bottling Date: Jan 5, 2012Alcohol %: 12.9Tasting Notes:The 2011 Sauvignon Blanc opens with overt aromas of peach, pear, green apple and a suggestion of orange zest. The wine is lively and refreshing on the palate with flavors of summer fruits and a floral, vibrant finish. A lovely example of Sauvignon Blanc, it is interesting while still being refreshingly pleasurable.Ratings:93 Points - Wine Enthusiast, 2012 #20 - Wine Enthusiast Top 100 Wines of 2012Production Notes:Whole cluster pressed and fermented exclusively in stainless steel at 58 degrees. The fermentation lasted 28 days and proceeded quite evenly throughout.Winemaker Notes:The Shenandoah Valley has a long history of growing beautiful Sauvignon Blanc grapes. The Linstead vineyard is a 32 year old, low yielding parcel that produces grapes of great character and minerality. The Devancy Vineyard is younger and provides fresh, floral wine. Combining the two allowed us to weave the density of Linstead with the more ethereal pleasures of the younger fruit. By fermenting the wine exceptionally cold we retain the freshest aromatics and flavors.Food Pairing:Perfect to be served on its own or with appetizers. The 2011 Andis Sauvignon Blanc can also be served with light pasta dishes, fish dishes and summer salads.
