BIO
I am a serial entrepreneur, angel investor and social innovator. I am part of the founding team of WineTable with 30+ years of experience in starting and operating businesses. I am a member of the Board of Directors of WineTable active in developing the strategy of the business.
I am originally from Detroit where I grew up and graduated from Wayne State University. I became a wine lover during my first extended stay in California in my early 20's as a graduate student (Ph.D. UC Berkeley in Cellular and Molecular Biology). I lived in California (Berkeley, Santa Barbara & Santa Monica) and worked there on and off (EF Hutton & Co. & Dimensional Fund Advisors) until 1991 before moving to the East coast. I still have family in San Luis Obispo, San Francisco and Fresno and visit whenever I can.
I stopped off in Philadelphia long enough to earn my MBA at Wharton. In 1991 I moved to the NYC metro area and currently reside in Fairfield County Connecticut but spend lots of time in the wine growing region of eastern Long Island, summering on Shelter Island in Peconic Bay for over 30 years.
I was a founder of a company that built broadband communications systems in 4 countries of Europe but have traveled extensively and done business in Asia and Africa as well. In addition I have helped build a biotech company and operate an online travel company as a serial entrepreneur and angel investor.
I am excited to be part of WineTable and looking forward to becoming much more educated about the wine industry in all of its dimensions as we continue to build out and expand the website.
Feel free to ping me on e-mail, Twitter or LinkedIn. Hopefully we can find a time and share a bottle of wine.
